REFLECTIONS ROOM

Reflections

A place for me to sit with life as it is.

To be honest about what I am learning, what I am feeling, and who I am becoming.

Survival Mode Needs Me to Survive

OCTOBER 3, 2026

Survival mode has a way of pulling me back down into the mud. It doesn’t want me to see anything clearly. It wants to keep me confused and constantly running from myself. It wants me to believe I am the threat, but the only real threat to survival mode is surrendering everything to God and getting out of the mud pit with the swine.

Survival mode needs me to survive.

I have learned that survival mode was what I needed back then. The environment was not safe. My identity was tied to performance. Success was my destination. I was casting my pearls into the mud, chasing desires that could never give me what I was looking for.

I have learned that surrendering doesn’t require performance, success, or a destination. Surrendering is an invitation to sit, walk, and just be—letting go and letting God be the center of my peace.

Surrender doesn’t need me. It wants me to be free.

What if there is no destination?
